Intraoral Cameras
Seeing what your dentist sees might seem like a pipe dream, but the good news is that it is now a reality thanks to intraoral cameras. Instead of listening and attempting to understand what is going on inside your mouth, you can see for yourself! The camera-tipped wand scans your teeth and gums, projecting the images onto a chairside monitor for easy viewing. This process not only allows for more precise diagnostic imaging but also gives our team the chance to educate you on your oral health.
All-Digital X-Rays
All-digital X-rays are a new and exciting way to capture scans of your mouth without high levels of radiation. These systems now emit much less radiation, and they quickly produce higher-resolution images. This cuts down on the time that was once spent waiting for images to develop in a darkroom. Instead, they develop within seconds and are stored digitally, making it easier to retrieve them in the future if necessary.
Digital Impression System
If you hated having dental impressions taken during an appointment because of the gag-worthy, cold, messy dental putty, you’re not alone. Fortunately, that material is no longer necessary. With our new digital impression system, we can scan your teeth and gums so that a three-dimensional model appears on a nearby screen. Once adjustments and specifications are made, we can send the image to local lab technicians who will begin to fabricate your customized restoration.
Soft Tissue Laser
When battling gum disease, Dr. Listiyo can use our Picasso soft tissue laser to target pockets of bacteria, eliminating them without touching nearby healthy tissues. By opting to incorporate this type of treatment, we can easily mitigate the problem without causing excessive bleeding, swelling, or increasing the risk of possible infection. With a soft tissue laser, we can reduce recovery times so that you can get back on your feet and resume normal activity.
The Wand™
If receiving local anesthesia is not something you look forward to, you’ll be pleased to learn that we now make the process much more manageable with the help of The Wand™. Because much of the discomfort you might experience when receiving an injection is due to the speed at which the needle enters your mouth, the device controls the flow of local anesthetic as well as how fast the needle penetrates the soft oral tissue. Targeting only a specific area reduces the chances of your entire mouth becoming numb when needing only a dental filling or crown.
